Thank you for stopping at the NEW HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH website. No matter what brought you here, God knows that we’ve been praying for your arrival.
Perhaps you’re at a curve in life’s road, needing to make a particularly difficult turn. If so, trust that new hope through Christ is somehow around the bend. Perhaps NEW HOPE, through ministries of Bible based guidance and care, can help you navigate the windy highway. After all, we are located at 12727 Lincoln Way a mile off of Route 30 with a sharp right at the left turn caution sign. Don’t let life veer you in the wrong direction; turn right into the new hope of Christ.
Perhaps you need a rest stop on the long and hurried journey. NEW HOPE might be a place of quiet refreshment for you. Come sit in the peaceful light of our glass cross at worship in our sanctuary, hear the joyful music, and know God's love through the Word proclaimed. Outside enjoy the waterfall, find a bench to sit quietly under a tree, or take a peaceful walk around the beautiful gardens on park-like 16 acres of God-given earth. There’s even a playground for the kids. NEW HOPE is easy to find by satellite view on the Internet, because of the large open green space in the midst of suburban North Huntingdon. Look at the "heavenly" aerial view under "Our Location" on this website.
Perhaps you are stuck, like in a traffic jam. Maybe NEW HOPE can help you move forward. As fellow travelers in Christ all of us should be learning new and better ways, according to Scripture. Currently NEW HOPE is focusing on good communication habits in love to build healthier long lasting relationships. Imagine a community like in Matthew 18:15-17: “If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. . . .” We practice this Scripture at NEW HOPE.
Perhaps you feel miles away from what is important. Maybe you think you are wandering aimlessly without purpose. If so there are meaningful ways to intentionally connect to others and to serve Christ at NEW HOPE. For example, we actively support Girls Scouts, Relay for Life, the local Salvation Army, Welcome Home family shelter in Greensburg, the Blackburn Center against domestic and sexual violence, and Westmoreland County and a local food bank. We happily share our God-given space with the community. Meals-on-Wheels, and Weight Watchers, and local residents regularly rent our handicapped accessible facilities. We also show care through making hospital and crisis calls, bereavement support, taking communion to members who are homebound, and our parish nurse offering monthly blood pressure screening and medical advocacy.
We pray that having visited this website, you have enjoyed a scenic view of new hope through Jesus Christ. We invite you to come and see in person. When you visit you’ll be greeted inside the front doors with the words overhead “Welcome to Your New Hope” followed with a warm friendly handshake. NEW HOPE can be your new hope, too.
In Christ's New Hope,
The Reverend Ms. Janet Reid
